True to my words on the blog description, I am now writing this blog post to over discuss Game of Thrones' latest episode - Season 05, Episode 08. Spoilers Ahead!

Where The White Walkers At?

When I first saw GoT, I was actually discouraged a bit 'cause the opening scene was like for a horror story. There were zombie like creatures that killed off some humans in the first scene. Except that those zombie look-a-likes has blue eyes, crystal blue ones. I later learned that they are called White Walkers.

"In that darkness the White Walkers came for the first time. They swept through cities and kingdoms, riding their dead horses, hunting with their packs of pale spiders big as hounds."

Given this early and dramatic appearance, I was expecting that the GoT scenes will always include them. So, I was wrong...

Five seasons later, I've seen White Walkers only a few times in the series. But you will never forget about them as you watch the series as they are always felt specially when a Stark or someone will quote a Stark and say "Winter is Coming". I knew they are referring to this race mentioned in ancient legends and stories from the original human inhabitants of Westeros.

Oh Hey, Here We Are!

And then they showed up big time in the 8th Episode of Season 5 of this great television show. 

As Jon Snow my man together with some of his fellow Night’s Watch pulled up in Hardhome, North of the Wall to hopefully commence peace talks with the wildlings, he felt an icy welcome from the locals, but it is not the coldest he will feel that day.

As later on the episode, the white walkers showed up and they have outnumbered the guys from the north and the locals of Hardhome combined.

It was the attack that is long time coming, but the execution of it I have never guessed so it was a very entertaining treat (RIP very minor characters).

And Then They Rise!

This episode has an epic scene wherein Jon faced-off with one of the main White Walker (leader if you must) and Jon shattered him with a swing of his VALYRIAN STEEL sword! So there's that, we now know they are frail in the presence of this precious steel. Prior to this, Jon also secured some dragon glass from the shed - at this stage, we also know those stuff kill those bad creatures. We stacking up! Then they ran off to the boats to escape this chaotic piece of land. Oh, yeah! One up for our Night’s Watch.

And then one of this main whites lifted his hand as he looked at sailing-away Jon, and then the dead wildings killed by the white walkers rose up with blue eyes... queue da-dan-da-da-da-dan-da-da-dan.

Dayum, what's next!?!

[Movie] Almost Famous

As mentioned on this post , I've had some time to watch a lot of movies/series during the holidays. Lucky, one of the streaming services we have has Almost Famous . I get to re-watch it. This movie has always have a special place in my heart. I think I've first watched this back in college when I and my college friend Mhadz would visit the video rental store in our city of Lipa in the Philippines and exchanged copies to maximise the rentals. I Won A Round Trip Ticket to Philippines

Then Covid happened... In August 2019, I got a call from a Sydney land line number while at work. I took it 'cause we have office in Sydney, and thought maybe it's someone from work. Turned out, it's someone from Forex Cargo . It's a freight forwarding service that I have used to send my first ever balik bayan box to PH. The person on the other line told me I won the major prize on their promo. I'm like a deer in the headlights cause I never joined any contests recently (though I do have good track record - read here ). The prize? Thoughts About Puzzle

My son went thru a phase of being really into puzzle (not so much now). But when I say into, I meant he really likes doing it over and over again. As soon as he finishes completing his favourite set, he will undo it and start over again. He prefers me to sit down next to him though as he do it.  One time, as I watch him do the same puzzle for the nth time, a comparison to the puzzle occurred to me. I realised, it’s like our life with God. Our life with God is complete. In Jeremiah 1:5, God said “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you…” and He continued in the same book in chapter 29 verse 11, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”. He knows the big picture, but the tricky part is that we don’t.
